Recent Osmose Plant Operator Training in Victoria a success

Osmose recently conducted a Treatment Plant Operators Workshop in Dandenong, Melbourne in October 2008. The 2 and half day workshop covered all aspects of wood preservation including; wood properties and deterioration, preservative types, processes, treatment specifications, timber preparations, solution management, OH&S, environmental and plant equipment maintenance and trouble shooting. It was attended by participants from various locations such as Mt Gambier, Kangaroo Island, Bombala, Melbourne and even one participant all the way from Nelson, New Zealand.

The workshop is designed to improve knowledge and understanding for those who work with wood preservation chemicals through a mix of practical demonstrations and informative sessions. The completion of the workshop will form part of the requirements to becoming an approved or accredited operator.

Another Treatment Plant Operators Workshop will be held early in the new year in the Brisbane area for those customers in the northern states. Letters will be sent to customers once details have been finalized. If you have an operator(s) who hasn't participated in a course previously, then it could be worthwhile sending them to the workshop. Please contact us for more information.
